"What's shaking, Chiefy Baby?"
Thurgood Marshall (1908-1993)
- customary greeting to Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, quoted by Michael D. Davis and Hunter R. Clark in Thurgood Marshall: Warrior at the Bar, Rebel on the Bench (1992)
I wonder if Thurgood slapped Burger's hand, too, or gave him a high-five.
Burger tended to come across as a bit of a pompous sort, whether he was or not in private.
"Chiefy Baby" seems a nice way of piercing the crust.
